Sonicbids

Gary Allen, drummer from The Charlie Daniels Band and JJ Cale, is seeking original songs to evaluate for use by bands, soundtracks and licensing through his professional connections as a BMI writer/performer.

BMI reports a song that features Gary on drums is played every 4 seconds somewhere on planet Earth. His recorded works can be found on Epic, Sony, Buddah, Mercury, Polygram, CBS, K -Tel, Shelter, Blue Hat and Polydor Records. Fire On The Mountain remains the most popular of the CDB catalog and is played daily on classic international classic rock and country radio. The CDB is featured bumper music on Coast To Coast AM, the biggest late night radio talk show in history.

Charlie Daniels was recently inducted into The Grand Old Opry, along with the man that gave Gary his first paying gig, Opry star Stonewall Jackson.

Selected songs will receive a written evaluation by Gary Allen and will be passed on to additional contacts such as publishers, managers, A&R, radio, tv, songwriters, engineers, booking agents, record labels, program directors and musicians. Additionally, winners are posted monthly at tennesseeconcerts.com, Tennessee's most popular concert event site. Winners also are featured in the Music City Beat newsletter.

* We are proud to announce that winners will now also receive a special prize from Lynchburg Cake and Candy Co! Photobucket www.lynchburgcakeandcandy.com. Lynchburg Whiskey Ball Chocolates made with locally distilled Jack Daniel's Whiskey®, for that taste of Tennessee. You've seen their fine products on Barbara Walter's The View and The Dean Brothers' Road Tasted on the Food Network. Good luck and special thanks to all the great songwriters we have worked with this year. Remember this from my mentor, JJ Cale. It doesn't matter how many no's you hear, it only takes one YES! Well, John wouldn't have chosen the exclamation point. He has a reputation, you know, for being reluctantly excitable. Bad for the image...
- Gary Allen

Tennessee Concerts Has A New Look!

Five Years of Tennessee Concerts Online by Pat Adams
2008 brings the 5th anniversary of TennesseeConcerts. The music web
site began in 2003 after posting pictures of Hermans Hermits (along with
pictures of singer Peter Noone & myself) at the Tennessee State Fair in 2002.
Legendary Nashville Disc Jockey Coyote McCloud hosted that show. Months
later he introduced Tennessee Concerts to Nashville through his Nashville oldies
morning radio show. This was at a time when I had ONE page of pictures for
each decade. The site may have had a dozen or so pages, at that time.
We now have 300 pages in 2008. Thanks Coyote! Where are you now?
During the past five years we have accomplished a lot. We currently rank
in the top "Tennessee Concerts" & "Nashville Concerts" search engine searches
in Yahoo & Google. We also rank in the top 1% of "Nashville Tennessee" web sites.
We rank near (or at) the top of search engine results for many top artists, as well as the
"Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash".
We have sponsored the "Play It Again Jam" for two years.
The Jams have included many local talented musicians.
I took up playing the tambourine so I could jam, too. I got to Jam
with musicians that had performed with the Charlie Daniels Band,
the Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd & JJ Cale. How cool is that,
for someone who is not a musician. We hope to keep the Jam pages current,
with the latest projects, from the jam musicians themselves. Check out our
latest pictures of The House Cats at Music City Nights. The House Cats
features players from the "Play It Again Jam" including jam host Gary Allen
(from the CDB & JJ Cale).
Our most popular pages are our Lynyrd Skynyrd Southern Tribute
pages. I have just renewed the www.SouthernTribute.com domain for
this site. We have rare news reports of the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash,
plus never before seen pictures of the plane crash scene.
We are the first media outlet to publish these historic photos.
We plan to release 4 more of these photographs in the upcoming month.
The pictures and information was supplied to me by Jacquelyn Cooper
in Mississippi. She retrieved much of the information from the family attic,
as the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crashed on property, owned by her
grandfather. Our Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash page gets more hits than our
Tennessee Concerts home page, a popular page in the Internet.
We are also publishing Gary Allen's Sonic Bids "Song Of The Month"
and "Band Of The Month", featuring some very talented musicians.
We congratulate the March winners Steven Richards & Ladd Smith.
Drummer Gary Allen (from the Charlie Daniels Band and JJ Cale), and I
have worked together in the past few years on many music related projects.
We recently wrote the "History Of The Volunteer Jam" on our
Volunteer Jam page.
We now have over 1,000 (possibly several thousand) Nashville Concert Pictures
beginning from 1970-2008 including Classic Rock, Country, Oldies, Southern
Rock and more. Our Special Events pages, begins in the 1960's.
See our "The Beatles Tennessee Connections" page including The Beatles
connections to Tennessee & Nashville. This page mentions Steve Cropper's
connection to The Beatles. Our Tennessee Connections page is mentioned in
many biographies & references for legendary guitarist Steve Cropper including
Steve Croppers Wikipedia entry.
Speaking of The Beatles, we also have pages on
Paul McCartney in Nashville & Paul McCartney Area Concerts.
Somehow, some of our early pages have got lost in the shuffle. We hope to update the pages,
and bring them back soon, but you can check them out now if you want Fair Park in Nashville,
Centennial Park in Nashville, Printers Alley in Nashville, Patsy Cline Plane Crash, Elvis Presley Tribute,
Conway Twitty Tribute, and a Tammy Wynette Tribute.
The five year anniversary brings a new look to the web site, with new
pages, including our new Store. We only have a couple of items in the store,
but plan to have CD's and other items soon. We will also feature a Nashville
Concert Calendar of upcoming Nashville concerts. When I try to search for
upcoming Nashville Tennessee Concerts, search results come up with
TennesseeConcerts.com, so what better site to list upcoming concerts.
If you have an upcoming event, let me know and I will list it. We hope to eventually have the best concert calender in middle Tennessee. We also hope to start selling ad space and promoting artists in the near future, moving us up into another level on the Nashville Music Scene. I have just started a new blog.
If you get a chance, sign it. http://www.tennesseeconcerts.com/blog.html

Tuesday Night

I'll be playing Music City Nights Live at the Rhythm Kitchen (174 3rd Ave, Nashville) Tuesday night. Y'all come out and enjoy some great music! For information, call (615) 248-8292, or find it via Google Maps.

Music City Nights First Videotaping

Music City Nights rides out the Tornados
February 5, 2008: The first video taping of Music City Nights, featuring some really good singer/songwriters at the Rhythm Cafe (formally Cafe Milano) on Third Avenue in downtown Nashville Tennessee. Also performing at this first show were Chris Gantry, Jared Taber, Emerson Hart, and The House Cats. The House Cats include musicians from Nashville's Play It Again Jam (a TennesseeConcerts sponored Musicians Jam) including Gary Allen, Walter Jowers, Ken Utterback, Laurie Canaan, Doug Corbin & Harley Lamoureux.

I had a chance to go backstage and get some food during
the beginning of the show. After the show started, tornado sirens began to blare throughout downtown Nashville, as the states deadliest tornado's in over three decades ripped through Tennessee, killing at least 33 people. The show continued on, since news reports stated the tornado's were headed northeast of Nashville.

This was also Super Tuesday, and voting day in Tennessee. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee (republican) and Senator Hillary Clinton (democrat) won the primary vote in Tennessee on this day. The show went on as planned, despite the eventful day.
Chris Gantry and his daughter Nicole Hart did a great job hosting the event. Jared Taber & Emerson Hart sounded good. And, my friends from The House Cats always sound good. Pat Adams - www.tennesseeconcerts.com
